IDEMs range of RFID Solenoid Guard Locking Interlock switches have designed to provide robust position interlock detection for moving guards and provide a lock mechanism to keep the guard closed until the hazard has been removed. With RFID integration this creates a level of anti-tamper that is hard to defeat and by-pass as two safety features need to be satisfied.
They will connect to most popular standard safety relays and with RFID providing high coding level (type 4) they will maintain PLe/Cat4 safety level (ISO 13849-1) even with switches connected in series.
They are tongue operated with RFID actuation built into the actuator and switch and are designed to fit to the leading edge of sliding or hinged machine guards to provide positively operated switching contacts and provide a tamper resistant not easily defeated system.
They are available in plastic, die-cast and stainless steel 316 housings providing complete flexibility of choice depending upon the application. Offered with a choice of actuators to aid installation and maintain durability throughout the rigorous applications associated with Factory Automation, Packaging, Food Processing, Pharmaceutical and Petro-Chemical industries.
They can be used in combination with safety timers to provide a delay before allowing the guard to open (e.g. for machines which require run down).
